Working in Partnership

CAN has an elected representative who is able to sit on partnership groups and who reports regularly to members. The CAN structure and processes have been developed to enable the membership to be consulted on specific issues and to feed back to the elected representative. CAN is a Working Group feeding into the Local Strategic Partnership. To learn more about CAN's involvement with the LSP, click here.

CAN, through its relationship with CVS, is able to assist statutory organisations in developing meaningful relationships with Community and Voluntary Organisations.

CAN is able to enhance communication between statutory partners and Community and Voluntary Organisations.

CAN holds email contact details for many of its members, and is encouraging them all to provide this information to enable information to be disseminated quickly and efficiently to members. Partner information will be circulated to members at our discretion on request.

Public Involvement

CAN encourages statutory organisations to involve it as a consultative body or to facilitate member participation in consultations e.g. by:

  • Raising awareness of the consultation period

  • Setting up meetings to enable presentations to expand upon the consultation before members reply

  • Posting links on this Web site on request. Please contact info@nandscan.org to set up such links.

CAN is in a position to promote closer links with the community.

CAN is able to help achieve more responsive policy development and analysis

Raising Awareness

CAN is able to help statutory organisations gain a greater understanding of Community and Voluntary Organisations.

CAN, through its close links with its member organisations, is well placed to generate greater understanding of service provision.
