The Sherwood Countryman Bus Project has recently taken delivery of a new Volkswagen mini-bus which can carry 15 seated passengers or one wheelchair and 11 seated passengers.   It is equipped with a tail lift and automatic door step and is based in New Ollerton. The vehicle (with a driver) is available for hire to affiliated groups on a 'first come, first served' basis. The hire charge is £1.00 per mile, with a minimum fee of £20. It is ideal for group outings or shopping trips etc. The bus is driven by volunteer drivers all having received additional Defensive Driving training.

Rooms for Hire at the St John Ambulance Centre, Telford Drive, Newark, NG24 2DX

The Facilities

The Newark Division of St John Ambulance started operating from its new Headquarters in November 2007. The premises were totally rebuilt inside to offer the accommodation they needed and the rooms for hire are freshly decorated with new furniture and projector (digital or overhead) and flip chart available if required.

There is parking space for 22 cars with additional on-street parking. There is a lift to the first floor for those with mobility problems.

There are five rooms for hire, which are described below. Please discus your requirements with us. Unfortunately fire regulations may require lower occupancy rates if your group has members with disabilities where evacuation may be difficult.

The Downstairs Training Room

This room is suitable for up to 30 people using tables for group work or 40 at conference style seating.

The First Floor Training Room

This room is suitable for 60 people based on conference style seating. It is also large enough to accommodate smaller groups wishing to do a mix of conference and small group work.

The First Floor Youth Room

This room has plenty of natural light and can accommodate up to 20 people. It also has tables and chairs suitable for younger children.

The First Floor Meeeting Room

This room is suitable for small meetings of up to 12 people in board room style or up to 20 theatre style.

 

The Ground Floor Kitchen

There is a fully fitted kitchen with tables and seating for 16 people in an adjacent canteen.  The kitchen / canteen including crockery and utensils can be hired independently or in association with one of the other rooms. The hirer has the choice of providing their own refreshments or asking about our light refreshment service, which is offered at reasonable cost.

Hire Charges. Please note all charges shown below are subject to VAT at the prevailing rate.

Rooms for Hire at Unique Scrap Store

The Meeting Room

The Meeting Room is situated on the ground floor of the Unique Scrap Store, suitable for training events, seminars, lectures, workshops and larger meetings. The room can accommodate 40 – 45 people, theatre style

Presentation equipment available: Overhead projector and flip chart

 

The Board Room

Situated on the first floor of the Unique Scrap Store, this is a comfortable room suitable for smaller meetings, one-to-one training, counselling, consultation groups and interviews. The room can accommodate 8 – 10 people, Board Room style.

 

 The Computer Suite

Situated on the first floor of the Unique Scrap Store, the suite is purpose built to accommodate computer based activities, housing 6 computers with internet access; this room can also be used to accommodate discussion groups of between 8 – 10 people

 Refreshments

Tea/coffee/squash and biscuits are provided at the beginning of the morning session, with a further late morning refreshment break, to suit your requirements.

Hot drinks are served in self-serve thermos’, so as not to disturb the flow of the meeting.

 Please note; water, mints, paper and pens will also be provided

Prices from 01/04/07 – 01/04/08 (Room hire is VAT exempt) 

Room hire is £20.00 a room for the first hour (applicable to whichever of the 3 rooms is required)

£15.00 every additional hour or part thereof (Including set up and pack up time).

* An additional charge of £20 per hour or part hour will be made for use of a room before 9am or after 5pm due to staffing costs

Tea/coffee/squash and biscuits are supplied at £3.00 per head                        

Eat Unique Buffet Lunch at £4.25 per head (alternative options available on request)

Refreshment and meal prices exclude VAT at 17.5%

All food is freshly prepared by the Eat Unique team at The Unique Coffee Bar who also encourage the budding chefs amongst the young people to assist, (their warm, home-made sausage rolls are a real winner!)
